- God created us in His image for a purpose –so that He could relate to man, and man could relate to Him. God create man was for fellowship with Him. Spirit to Spirit.
- When you receive Jesus into your heart and are born again, three promises are fulfilled in your life.1) you are cleansed 2) your spiritual nature is changed.3) your sins are forever forgiven.
- 1) You are cleansed by the blood of Jesus; it is by the Word of God that you appropriate this cleansing. God’s word keeps us clean. God’s word is pure and holy and it keeps us pure and holy when we walk in it. Holiness is not outward appearance but it is inside of you. The only way we can become more like God is through the working of the indwelling Holy Spirit, but often when God begins to work in us, we cry. When a proving time comes, we want to back up and say, “What’s happening here?”
- 2) Your spiritual nature is changed. - He gives you a new heart or new spirit. Old things have passed away and all things become new (2 cor 5:17). We need to renew our minds by the Word of God and by the Spirit of God so that we can recognize the difference between the spirit of God moving and our emotions reacting or not reacting. Question: “How can I know I am being led by the Holy Spirit and not just reacting to my own flesh or being deceived by Satan? Answer: “Go to the Word.” See 1 John 4:1-6. Note: If you ever have a question of whose voice you are hearing, simply ask it to acknowledge and confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. If you don’t get any acknowledgment, you will know it is not the voice or prompting of the Holy Spirit. If anything you are feeling prompted to do or being asked by someone else to do does not line up with the Word, don’t do it. Holy Spirit is the Truth and will never lead you to do something that contradicts the Word.
- 3) Your sins are forgiven. When you ask for your sins to be forgiven, they are forgiven. When someone is born again, his sins are forgiven. Being born again is a heat experience and not done by head knowledge alone. And don’t do things for the sake that people are doing it. Sins will retained if we do not accept Jesus into their hearts. Remember: Lives are changed only when hearts are changed. There is so much sin and carnality in the Body of Christ because many of us have not allowed the Holy Spirit to do what He was sent to do within us. And we will not see the fullness of the outpouring until we understand what HE was sent to do within us.
